I work with people who have experienced childhood trauma/neglect, with unconventional histories, who have had trouble finding support with therapists; people with somatic symptoms and extreme emotions or difficulty coping interpersonally. I offer an approach called Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy which pays careful to the body mind connection, which is an active approach based on psychoananlytic principles, to address emotional issues related to complex trauma showing up in current attachment realtionships. It is particularly useful for "treatment resistant clients" and my own strength is with fragile clients who tend to dissociate and have somatic symptoms. I have engaged in additional studies addressing cultural issues both verbally and nonverbally. I also bring prior training in other somatic psychotherapies, including psychophysical therapy (Bill Bowen), sensorimotor, Inner Relationship Focusing, somatic experiencing touch work, and have a 20 year background as a certified Feldenkrais practitioner working with people with chronic pain. I enjoy working with complex, highly intelligent clients.
